Our Focus: Help improve Nashville's Bicycle Community.
How?
Promote a more sustainable and trusted method of transportation. We promote bicycle events. We promote bicycle shops. We promote choosing the bicycle over other forms of transportation. Every time someone chooses to ride their bicycle over driving a car it helps make our community more sustainable. This also helps our local bicycle shops by bringing them business through the purchase of new or used bikes, bicycle repairs, and the commerce of bicycle related goods and apparel. Way to go for riding your bike!
Increase awareness of the bicycle.
We are working to to educate drivers about the rules of the road when bicycles are present.
We are working to educate bicyclists of their rights, rules, and responsibilities.
We are working to make bicyclist aware of different ways, times, locations, and reasons to utilize the bicycle.
We are working to bring the idea of riding a bicycle to people that normally do not ride.
Promote buying local and riding bicycles to do so.
We are installing bicycle parking at local businesses to make it more inviting and user friendly for bicyclist.
We want to give bicyclist a choice of where to ride and we hope they choose local shops to support our community.
Unite bicyclist.
We are working to bring all types of bicyclist together so the bicycle community has a stronger voice. We want to collect feedback from road cyclist, mountain bikers, urban riders, commuters, greenway users, meadow bikers, and many more so we can analyze this data, and communicate the wants and needs of the bicycle community to the local government to improve our bicycle community.
Connect bicycle commuters so they can ride together.
There is safety in numbers. We'd like to bring commuters together to make it safer for them when they ride.
Organize group rides.
We want to create events that welcome all types of riders so they can enjoy riding with one another. We hope this will allow more people to realize how easy it is to get from one part of town to another by bicycle.
Create healthier lifestyles by promoting the bicycle.
We hope that people will see the benefits of riding their bikes and understand all of the health benefits they receive. In turn we hope that these people will share this with their circle of friends and inspire them to ride bicycles too.
Increase the number of bicycle riders on the roads.
We are calling out to and recruiting more people to ride their bicycles. The more bicyclist that use the road will bring attention to bicycling in general. This will create safety in numbers. This will motivate the government to work to protect the bicyclists. This will also help our local bicycle shops increase their business.
Utilize the Green Angels to spread the message about the goodness of the bicycle.
Let's have fun with the bicycle.
Help sponsor other organization rides through funding and promotion.
The Alliance wants to support other bicycle organizations achieve their goals. When we raise funds we try to share this with others that are helping make our bicycle community stronger.
